Northamptonshire County Council needs to find £115m savings over the next four years predominantly to meet social care costs in the county. The Library and Information Service must share in this financial challenge and seek to reduce costs to the tax payer. Earlier this year Martin Grant Homes and Harcourt Developments consulted on an outline planning application for 525 houses that will sit next to the area being developed as Part of Hardingstone SUE. This area crosses the border in South Northants.

People in Northampton are being asked to have their say on how proposed changes to the Council Tax Reduction scheme may affect them.
The scheme provides financial support for people on low incomes to help pay their Council Tax bill.

The Borough Council's popular, free fireworks display is returning to the Racecourse on Saturday, 4 November.
The fireworks event will open in the afternoon, with visitors able to enjoy fairground rides and food stalls from 2pm. Heart FM will be onsite from 5pm, to get the entertainment started.

Abington Park Museum will play host to a range of workshops and events for children and families this October half term.
Starting with a one-man performance of Oscar Wilde's Canterville Ghost, in an adaptation written especially for families, on Saturday, 21 October. The Parish Council have been made aware that the bus was stuck near the village hall for over an hour at the weekend due to people parking on the double yellow lines. The Police have had to be called to attend to help twice in the past week.
Please do not park on the double yellow lines, even if you hold a blue badge, as this can cause an obstruction which can cause major problems for other road users.. Read More »
