Holocaust Memorial Day will be marked by Northampton Borough Council on Wednesday, 24 January, with two public events at The Guildhall.
A short ceremony will take place at 12 noon in the Guildhall courtyard, followed by a larger community event in the Great Hall in the evening, at which community groups and dignitaries will deliver a series of readings and performances inspired by this year's memorial day theme: "The power of words.".. Northampton Male Voice Choir (NMVC) is challenging the men of Northamptonshire to join them and the wonderful soprano Emily Haig in a concert on 14 April 2018 to raise money for PROSTATE CANCER UK.

The Borough Council's popular, free fireworks display is returning to the Racecourse on Saturday, 4 November.
The fireworks event will open in the afternoon, with visitors able to enjoy fairground rides and food stalls from 2pm. Heart FM will be onsite from 5pm, to get the entertainment started.

Abington Park Museum will play host to a range of workshops and events for children and families this October half term.
Starting with a one-man performance of Oscar Wilde's Canterville Ghost, in an adaptation written especially for families, on Saturday, 21 October. Collectors from Northamptonshire are being invited to display their collections at a special one day exhibition at the newly refurbished Abington Park Museum.
The third annual Collectors' Day will be held on Saturday 4 November from noon to 4pm and organisers are on the lookout for more hidden gems to add to the exhibition.
