Local Plan Part 2 consultation

A document setting out how more than 13,500 new dwellings will be delivered in Northampton by 2029 goes out for public consultation today.

The Local Plan Part 2 sets out the planning policy framework for Northampton for the next ten years and includes detail on sites identified for new housing, regeneration of the town centre, and expected quality of development.

Members of the public can comment on any element of the plan before it is submitted to the Secretary of State for consideration by an independent Planning Inspector.

Councillor James Hill, Cabinet Member for planning, said: "This is a key document which will help guide delivery of new housing developments across Northampton.

"It is important that we consider as wide a range of views as possible before presenting the document to the Government.

"Anyone wishing to engage with the consultation should remember that they will need to present a robust argument backed up by national planning policy to ensure their views can be taken into account."

Please visit www.northampton.gov.uk/lp2proposedsubmission for further details. The consultation closes at 5pm on Friday, 14 June.
