Bike Park Presentations

At the Planning Committee Meeting on 17th August 2021, 2 representatives from the Proposed Bike Park on the old Hardingstone 9 gave presentations. These presentations are attached for anyone who missed the meeting.

Comments made at the meeting were taken on board and further plans need to be developed. Once ready there will be a planning application for all residents to see and comment on.

Views sought on Borough-wide control of multiple occupancy housing

Northampton Borough Council is consulting on a proposal that would mean all property conversions to houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) anywhere in the borough would require planning permission.

Phase 1 of SUE planning application approved

Phase 1 of SUE development for 385 houses has been approved by NBC subject to some conditions. These are details that Kier need to provide and have approved before commencing. However we expect that building will start on site soon.

It has recently been announced that Kier is downsizing in an attempt to reduce debt, and is selling off its house-building division.

This will obviously cause some delay in the new development in the village but we don't know yet which firm will take over.

The Parish Clerk is in communication with Kier and you will be informed as soon as anything is known.

Local Plan Part 2 consultation

A document setting out how more than 13,500 new dwellings will be delivered in Northampton by 2029 goes out for public consultation today.

The Local Plan Part 2 sets out the planning policy framework for Northampton for the next ten years and includes detail on sites identified for new housing, regeneration of the town centre, and expected quality of development.
