National Silence

A one-minute silence is being held at 8 pm (20:00) on Sunday 18 September 2022, the day before the Queen's Funeral.

It is now confirmed that the funeral of The Queen will be held in Westminster Abbey on Monday 19 September 2022, which has been designated as a bank holiday.

Books of Condolence

Books of Condolence

There will be a book of condolence at St Edmunds church. Opening hours are 9am to 4pm.

There are also books at West Northants Council sites:

Opening times are as follows:

  • Great Hall, Northampton Guildhall: 8.30am to 6pm (Saturdays 9.30am to 5pm)
  • Towcester Forum: 9am to 5pm
  • Daventry Lodge Road: 9am to 5pm

Please be aware that during peak periods there may be queues.

Remembrance Service 8th November 2020

With the current guidelines and the second lock down about to come into force the Remembrance Service this year will be a minimal affair.

There are plans to have a service at the War Memorial with key personnel, which will be recorded and live streamed on Facebook for residents to follow along whilst at home.
